Obituary For Jason M. Correia
Jason “D5” M. Correia, 49, of Warren, RI, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025 with his loving family by his side. A son of Jean (Ferri) Jiacovelli and the late Bruce R. Correia, and the stepson to Richard Jiacovelli, Jason was a lifelong resident of Warren.
Jason graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 1995 where he enjoyed playing football and got to make many enduring friendships. He later went on to work for many years as a Life Coach for Autistic adults at the Cove Center in Providence. Jason was very proud of what he did and demonstrated how special of a person he was to approach all of his patients with such patience and caring. This was only eclipsed by his love of music. Jason was an incredible drummer and played in several bands over the years – first with his stepfather’s band, Nasty Habits, then went on to play in Authority before forming his own bands, Cuzin Eddy and finally, his most recent band, D5 & After Effect. Jason had the gift of being able to play by ear and picked up new songs very quickly. He was regarded as a fantastic storyteller and could “make a short story long”. Jason also got to work as a Constable for the Town of Warren.
Jason had a love of movies and cinema and especially loved the movie “Rocky”. He was enamored by the underdog tale of the film and was able to recite every line. He was also a fan of Kevin James and a die-hard Def Leppard fan. Most of all, Jason will be remembered for his deep love of family, especially his Mom, Jean and his beloved nieces and nephews, as well as for his bright and extremely kind demeanor. He was always willing to go out of his way to help anyone in need and was deeply devoted to his friends and loved ones.
In addition to his mother, Jean and step father, Richard, Jason is survived by his brothers, Brian Correia and Ashley Kehoe of Warren, RI, and Brandon Correia and his wife Tara of Seekonk, MA; his step sisters, Rachel Kingsford and her husband Brian, Renee Dupre and her husband Justin, and Robyn Silvia and her husband Kevin, all of Barrington, RI; his beloved dog, Rex; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many close nieces and nephews who absolutely adored him.
Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 8:30AM followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main St. Warren, RI 02885.

Jay was my friend and then became my boyfriend for about 6 months. Even though we had gone our separate ways we did reconnect again in the last 8 years. He was an amazing human being and I will miss him terribly. The last time we spoke on the phone I told him I loved him and to keep that fight going. My dear friend Jay, may you rest peacefully and never leave us alone. Always stay by our side .........until we meet again! Julie

I always called Jay "my sweetie". His kind heart and joyful spirit will forever be remembered by all of us that loved him so very much. He could always make you laugh with his dry sense of humor. I will never forget his 21st birthday at my house in Bristol. We had a "Woodstock Party" that his mom and I planned and he played his drums with his band all day long. He always told me he would never forget that day. I will forever keep my sweetie in my heart always. He will be so missed. Always loved. Becki Chase
