Joan (Ellis) Barnowski, 73, who lived most of her life in Warren, died Saturday, August 26th at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Born in Fall River the daughter of the late Warren and Aleena Ellis, she was the wife of William Paul Barnowski. She was also the wife of the late Norman J. Martel, Jr.

She had worked as a secretary and more recently worked for CVS as a pharmacy technician. She was a member of the Cat Fanciers Federation and Cat Fanciers Association and enjoyed showing her Persian Cats. She had a passion for hummingbirds, Elvis Presley and Chihuahuas as well.

Besides her husband, she leaves her four children, Norman Barnowski and his wife Cindy of Warren; Beth Barnowski Martin and her husband Todd of Swansea; Warren Barnowski and his wife Maria of Warren; and Susan Barnowski Dumkuski and her husband Robert also of Warren.

She was the loving grandmother of Michael Barnowski; Jennifer Barnowski; Nikole Gouveia; Victoria Gouveia; Dalton Gouveia; Evangelina Martin; Brandon Barnowski; Cory Barnowski; Kyle Dumkuski; Aarin Dumkuski; Jacob Dumkuski; Robert Dumkuski, Jr.; and Jordan Dumkuski. Great grandmother of Scarlett, Reese and Kayden Grimes.
