Bristol -- Joan ( LaFerriere) Greene, 87 of Bristol , died Thursday Feb. 16, 2017 at home. She was the wife of Charles R. Greene.

Joan was born in Warren, a daughter of the late Donat and Gertrude ( Galoski) LaFerriere.

She was a Bookkeeper and Account Manager for the Providence Washington Insurance Company.

She has been a Bristol resident since 1965 coming from Barrington, and also Norwich CT.

Mrs. Greene was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church.

Besides her husband she is survived by her son Jonathan Greene of Bristol, her daughter Erica Medley of Portsmouth.

She was the grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 2. She was also survived by 6 nieces and nephews.

Joan was the sister of the late Claire LaFerriere, and the late Connie Daly.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday Feb. 22, 2017 at 8:30am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road , Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Wednesday Morning from 8:30-9:30am.

Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, at a later date, and will be private.
