Joan “Joanie” Marie Francis, 75 of Warren, died Thursday July 16th. She was a daughter of the late John Francis III and Laura (Avila) Francis.
Joanie worked many years at Dan’s Wigwam in Warren before purchasing the restaurant with her daughter. She was a member of the German Club in Warren and the Bristol Elks. She lived at the Kickemuit Village where she served as Vice President of the Tenants Association. Joanie loved to travel and visited Hawaii over 40 times.
She was the mother of Kevin Francis (Cheryl) of Kapolei, HI; Jody Francis (Michael) of Winter Springs FL and Richard Francis of Warren, RI. She leaves her grandchildren, Bryan Dozois (Erica) of Medford, MA; Timothy Dozois (Alysia) of Woburn, MA; Caitlynn Francis of Riverside, RI; Kevin Francis (Sheryl) of Kapolei, HI; and Adriana Francis of Warren, RI. She also leaves 6 great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, John “Jack” Francis IV of Bristol and was predeceased by her sisters, Judith Tabor, Linda Pires and Norma Delvecchio.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends Monday, July 27th, 3 to 6:30. A service in the funeral home will begin at 6:30pm. Burial will be private.
