Obituary For John Alan Crisman

John Alan Crisman, 86, of Somerset, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Karen Ethel (Ward) Crisman.

Born in Flint, Michigan and raised in Pasadena, CA, he was the son of the late John and Ariel (Fitzgerald) Crisman.

A 1956 Graduate of John Muir High School in Altadena, CA, he enlisted into the United States Navy. While proudly serving his country, he continued his education. After completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, and having the determination, John opened his own business management consultant operation. John and Karen opened their hearts and home to adopt their two sons 39 years ago from the Philippines. Josh and Jeremy are forever grateful for this family where they gained sisters, Cindi and Kim. John was an avid communicant of First Chrisitan Congregational Church in Swansea where he served as a Deacon for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and creating memories with his family. During the warmer weather, you could always find John sitting comfortably in the sunshine reading one book after the next. He was not only intelligent, but very caring

He will be remembered for his hard work, love for his family and the memories created.

He is survived by his two sons, Joshua A. Crisman and his wife Karen of Somerset, and Jeremy R. Crisman of Somerset; his daughters, Cindi (Crisman) Hernandez and her husband Dan of CA, and Kim (Crisman) Gray and her husband Greg of TX; his sister, Linda Crisman; his sister in-law, Nancy Ward Arena of Barrington; his seven grandchildren, Kazin A. Crisman, Caleb E. Crisman, Kelsey and Ryan Hernandez, Jace Crisman, Garrett Puls and Amanda (Gray) Tsang; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, RI where the family will receive friends, Monday, June 24, 2024, from 4-8PM.
