Bristol John R. Mason Sr., 76 of Bristol died Tuesday April 4, 2017 at R.I. Hospital.

He was the husband of the late Irene (Lanoie) Mason . Mr. Mason, was born in Fall River Ma., a son of the late Oliver Lewis Mason Sr. and the late Sarah Elizabeth (Wilbur) Mason.

John was a maintenance worker for Shaws Market in Barrington, after he retired.

He had served 2 years in the National Guard.

Mr. Mason has been a Bristol resident for 36 years, coming from Swansea, and previously Warren, where he lived most of his life.

John was a parishioner of St. Jean the Baptiste Church, and was a former member of the Warren Rescue Squad. Mr. Mason enjoyed fishing with his son.

Mr. Mason had previously worked for Coats and Clark Manufacturing and B.F.I, for many years.

He is survived by a son John R. Mason Jr. of Bristol, a brother Edwin Mason of Avon, Ct.

He was the brother of the late Oliver Lewis Mason Jr.

Mr. Masons funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 12:30pm in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren , burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon St., Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Tuesday from 11-12:30pm
