Obituary For Jose Da Ponte

Jose Da Ponte, 92, of Warren, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren. Son of the late Jose and Flozina (Sam Paio) DaPonte. Jose was employed by Imperial Knife in Providence. He was also a fisherman. Jose was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Church. Loving father of Flozina De Costa of Cromwell, Conn., Maria L. Da Ponte of Warren, Jose Da Ponte of Old Saybrook, Conn., Albert Da Ponte of Warren, Frank Da Ponte of Fall River, MA. and Anthony Da Ponte of Warren. Grandfather of nine, great-grandfather of nine. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, where the family will receive friends 5-8pm Wednesday June 20. Funeral Friday, June 21 at 9am from the funeral home; Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St Thomas the Apostle Church, Metacom Ave., Warren.     Anthony I am thinking of you in this trying time. Although we think we are prepared, we are truely not. Think of all the good times with your dad and how you cared for him so much. Taking him for ice cream , etc. making his time with you so special. Sending love and prayers your way.
