Jose Javier Carrion, 49, of Warren passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at HopeHealth Hospice Care in Providence, with his family at his side. Born in Queens, NY, a son of Maria Rodriguez and the late Jose Carrion, Jose settled in Rhode Island several years ago with his family.

Jose was a self-employed painter. In his leisure time, he enjoyed snowboarding, biking, the arts, music, reading, visiting museums and especially liked to write.

In addition to his mother, he leaves his daughters Angelina Goodwin-Carrion of Cranston and Aliyah Carrion of Washington DC. He was the brother of Anthony Carrion of Fl and Mayra Carrion and Vanessa Carrion of the Bronx. He was the grandfather of the late Nevaeh Milagros Carrion.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends Friday, January 16th, 10:30am. Burial will follow in St Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Warren at 11:30am.
