Obituary For Jose Javier Carrion

Jose Javier Carrion, 49, of Warren passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at HopeHealth Hospice Care in Providence, with his family at his side. Born in Queens, NY, a son of Maria Rodriguez and the late Jose Carrion, Jose settled in Rhode Island several years ago with his family.

Jose was a self-employed painter. In his leisure time, he enjoyed snowboarding, biking, the arts, music, reading, visiting museums and especially liked to write.

In addition to his mother, he leaves his daughters Angelina Goodwin-Carrion of Cranston and Aliyah Carrion of Washington DC. He was the brother of Anthony Carrion of Fl and Mayra Carrion and Vanessa Carrion of the Bronx. He was the grandfather of the late Nevaeh Milagros Carrion.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends Friday, January 16th, 10:30am. Burial will follow in St Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Warren at 11:30am.

    Jose was a fine friend of mine and my " sister" Kathi. He always made himself available to help us with groceries and anything else we needed help with. I just loved him. He was fun to talk to and he was very protective of us. We loved him and he loved us. Jose was part of what made living in Warren, for me, great. My condolences to his daughters and the rest of his family. I'm so sorry. He was a good man.

    Jose was a fine friend of mine and my sister Kathi. He was always available to help us with groceries or anything else we needed help with. He was always so polite and even when he wasn't feeling well, He always offered to help us. I loved him. He was part of what made living in Warren, great. My condolences to his daughters and the rest of the family. I thank God for Jose's friendship and neighborly love. ❤️

    Sheila and Aida

    I met Javi when he was only 13 years old but our relationship strengthened when he came to visit David on campus back in 1991. We had conversations about his future and how capable he is at doing anything he wanted. That 15 year old stole my heart with his wittiness and kind heart. Since then, we've had a mutual respect and love for each other that blossomed over the next 35 years. Although we only saw each other sparingly since then, it was as though no time has passed when in each other's company. May Javi be in the hands of the Lord now and he is happy and at peace.
