Obituary For Jose P. Escobar

East Providence Jose Perreira Escobar, 79, of East Providence, died Monday January 13,2020 at home.

He was the husband of Diamantina (Souza) Escobar.

He was born in Portugal a son of the late Jose P. and Ana (DeGloria) DeEscobar.

Jose was a Machine Operator for many years for the United Paper Stock Company of Pawtucket, before retiring. An East Providence resident for over 53 years. Mr. Escobar loved spending time at the ocean,and also at Colt State Park in Bristol.

Besides his wife he is survived by his sons Arlindo Escobar and his wife Jackie of East Providence, David Escobar and his wife Melissa of East Providence.

Jose was the brother of Manuel Escobar of East Providence, and Antonio Escobar of Fresno, California.

He was the brother of the late Ana Jorge, the late Maria Escobar and also the late Alice Escobar.

Mr. Escobar was the grandfather of Ashley Escobar, Allyson Hall, David Escobar, Jr.

He was also the great grandfather of Gianna Escobar, Myles Hall, Brooklynn Bradley, Izabella Bradley, and Leo Hall.

The family plans on holding a a gathering and a celebration of his life in June at his favorite spot , Colt State Park. service details to be announced at a later date.

    My condolences to the family of Joe Escobar. May you rest in peace my dear friend, you will be missed tremendously, especially on hot summer days when we sat in the garage having a cold beer together and on winter days having a shot to keep us warm. I will miss hearing your voice, and not being able to have a chat with you. Rest in peace my friend. until we meet again. Your friend, Joe Araujo

    Our sincerest condolences to our extended family the Escobar family. I am sure it is with pride he leaves behind a proud, kind, loyal and generous, and loving family. Our fondest memories are of him enjoying all the Portuguese feasts where we shall toast in his memory now and for all the spring and summer feasts ahead. Sincerely, Tina and Steve Botelho.
