Joseph A. Pelland, Jr., 76 of Bristol, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Waterview Villa Nursing Home in East Providence. He was the husband of the late Linda L. Pelland.

Mr. Pelland was born in Providence a son of the late Joseph and Marie (Martin) Pelland Sr.

Mr. Pelland was a Kitchen Supervisor for the State of Rhode Island for over 20 years before retiring. He was an Army Veteran. He was a 23 year member of the Bristol County Lions Club, having served as Past President and Secretary. He was the founder of the Scholarship Fund Breakfast. He was an avid golfer and bowler.

He was the father of Michael Pelland, Michele Pelland, Vicki Cairrao, and Gerald Marshall, Jr. He leaves a brother, Eugene Sonny Pelland, and a sister, Marie Trafford.

He was the grandfather of Gregory Pelland, Harley Marshall, Tyler Marshall, and Angelina Marshall. Mr. Pelland was the great grandfather of Lilly Marshall.

Joseph was the brother of the late Robert Pelland Sr.

His funeral service will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10:00am in the Smith Funeral, Memorial and Cremation Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren , burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street Bristol.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours for Mr. Pelland are Thursday February 4, 2016 from 5-7pm.
