Obituary For Joseph C Gomes

Swansea - Joseph C. Joe Buzz Gomes, 61 of Swansea, MA., died Sunday August 30 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Della (Bonevelle) Gomes.

He was born in A Do Barbas, Portugal the son of the late Joaquim and Brigida (Salgeiro) Gomes.

Joe Buzz was a lifelong Chef at Jacks Family Restaurant in Warren.

He was a graduate of Johnson & Wales with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts.

Joe Buzz has been a Swansea resident since the 1980s coming from Warren.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, gardening and cooking.

Joe Buzz also enjoyed visiting Portugal when he could. He was also Co-Founder of Pepes Preserves. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Sarah Gomes of Warren and granddog Kimber

He was the brother of Jack Gomes of Swansea, Maria Gomes of Providence and Victor Gomes of Warren.

Joe Buzz was also survived by many nieces and nephews which he loved.

His service will be held Tuesday September 22, 2020 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel by the Sea, Colt State Park, Bristol, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Celebration of his life will be held on his birthday Tuesday September 22, 2020 from 4:00 pm 7:00 pm in the Chapel by the Sea, Colt State Park, Bristol, RI.

In lieu of flowers gifts in his memory, may be sent to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.

    You will be missed my friend. So many memories. From my dad delivering bread to Jacks, me working at Jacks( cooking 84 pounds of pasta in one night) to all the good times together. You are a good friend and a better man.

    Joe, Iâ??m at loss for words! You were my mentor when you put me to work side by side with you on the fryalaters as a young 15 year old! I grew up with your family, starting at Jacks at 13 and staying until i was 18. You were a great friend to me! I am saddened to hear this!! Your family meant alot me! May you rest in peace with the Angels! I send my condolences to your family and wife and daughter! Victor you were my best friend for many years and im so sorry!     Our family loved you. My Dad would have been so happy that you gave Heiny Bear a good home. He loved that dog.
