Obituary For JOSEPH DaCOSTA

Fall River - Joseph DaCosta, 71, of Fall River, MA., died Tuesday July 24 2018 at home.

He was the husband of Joan ( Landry) DaCosta, and also the late Michele ( Cicerchia) DaCosta.

Joseph was born in Pico Da Pedra, Azores,Portugal, a son of the late Antonio and Lena ( Cavanagh) DaCosta.

Mr. DaCosta was a Mechanic for Ryder Corporation .

He was a Veteran of the US Army , serving as an Aircraft Maintenance Crewman, during the Vietnam War.

Joseph has lived in Fall River for 8 years coming from Warren.

He was a member of the VFW.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son Kevin DaCosta ad his wife Lori of Swansea, his daughter Kimberly Kavanagh of Warren, a step son Vincent Giannola of Las Vegas, NV.,step daughter Amie Giannola of West Greenwich RI. His brothers Tony Costa of Warren, William DaCosta of Warren, Manny DaCosta of Fall River. His sisters Linda Martin of Swansea, Mary Ellen Simons of Warren and Frances Sobreiro of Fall River. Mr. DaCosta was the grandfather of Hunter Kavanagh, Tianna Kavanagh and Ashley DaCosta, and the step grandfather of Jett Giannola, and Aero Giannola.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nephews.

His funeral service will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 at 7:30pm in the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren , RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8pm.

    Joan and family, Iâ??m so sorry for your loss. Joe was a good man and I know he will be missed. He always talked about his family with great pride. He was especially proud of his grandchildren. Know he is at peace. Peaches
