Obituary For Joseph M. Vieira
Joseph M. Vieira, 87, of Libby Lane, died Thursday Aug. 7 2014, at Miriam Hospital. He was the companion of Gail R. Almeida for over 26 years. Mr. Vieira was born in Bristol a son of the late Albano C. and Aldina S. ( Carvalho) Vieira. Joseph, was a US Army Veteran , serving as a Technician 5th grade , during WWII . He was a member of the American Legion Post # 11 Warren. A lifelong Warren resident he was a Wire Inspector for the Kaiser Aluminum Company for over 41 years, before retiring in 1990. A parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Mr. Vieira, was a member of the sons of Madaleens & Chingazords, a member of the Kickemuit Village Tenants Association. He was one of the founders and past president of Warren Babe Ruth League, and was also a Little League Coach for many years coaching the Tigers . For over 25 years he volunteered at the scoreboard for Warren High School football, Pop Warner football, and Warren Indoor Soccer League. Besides his companion he is survived by a son Joseph M. Vieira Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Swansea, MA. 3 daughters Nancy Wujcik and her husband Edward of Warren, Susan Medeiros and her husband David of Barrington, Kathleen King and her husband Brant of Rodeo California, a sister Aldina Drobyski of Barrington. A nephew William R. Drobyski, Jr. of Elm Grove Wisconsin. He was the grandfather of Evan K. Wujcik, David S. Medeiros, Sarah B. Medeiros, Ian Costa, Kelly Finnigan, Julie Frost, Kaitlin Vieira, Jillian Vieira., and great grandfather of 5. His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave. Warren, burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon St. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
