Obituary For Joshua Ryan Johnson

Joshua Ryan Johnson, 44, of Warren, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 10, 2025, at home. Beloved son of David E. “Twigg” and Elizabeth (McAdam) Johnson. He was the husband of Megan Smith with whom he lived with for 14 years. He worked for the International Operating Engineers, Local 25 for ten years.

Josh was a gifted artist which was highlighted by the figures he made and painted for the Christmas displays at the Warren Town Hall and the Indian Chief design, which for years was on the doors of WFD former Ladder 1. Josh was also a talented musician, playing many string instruments, and enjoyed singing karaoke. He had worked for six years on Blount Small Ship Adventures where he met his love, Meg. For 10 years, he also worked for the Town of Warren with the Department of Public Works.

Besides his parents and wife, he will be truly missed by his sister Katelyn Johnson, her husband Jesse Zeiner and their daughter Olivia. He leaves his Cousin Chrissy Sousa and her daughter Holly. He will also be missed by his Godchildren, Cassidy Allen and Madison Moore; Meg's mother, Lee Berge and her husband Larry and several aunts, uncles and cousins, way too numerous to name, but you all know his love for you. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends, Monday, February 17th, from 8-11AM. A celebration of his life will immediately follow at 11am. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.

    Josh was a kind soul who had a strong love of life, adventure, music and the arts. He was a natural who took to playing a variety of instruments very well, much like his taste for life. I recall Josh for being a real gentle man who acts of kindness to others greatly impressed me and others who knew him.
