Obituary For Josue S Canario
Josue S. Canario, 83 of Warren, died Wednesday March 8, 2017 at home. He was the husband of the late Maria F. (Costa) Canario. Mr. Canario , was born in Faial Portugal, a son of the late Josue S. and Aldina (Silva) Canario. He was a laborer for the Fulflex Manufacturing for over 23 years. Josue, has been a Warren resident since 1962 coming from Portugal, he had attended masses at St. Elizabeth Church. Mr. Canario was a soccer player for Bristol Sports, for many years and a lifetime member of Portugal Sports team, where he played for several teams, and was a very well-known soccer player. He also had worked on a cruise ship in Portugal for several years. Mr. Canario is survived by his sons Josue D. and his wife Jennifer Canario of Bristol, and Mario J. Canario of Warren. He was the brother of Manuel Canario of Barrington. Loving grandfather of Jocelyn, Janelle, Joshua, Alexa, and Lucas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Aldina DaSilva, Germana Neves, and was predeceased by several step brothers and step sisters. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road ,Warren, where family will receive friends, Sunday from 3-6pm. His funeral will be held Monday, March 13, 2017 at 9:30am from the funeral home, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon St. Warren. Gifts in his memory may be sent to St. Elizabeth Manor, Alzheimers Unit, 1 Dawn Hill Road, Bristol, RI 02809.
