Obituary For Kathleen A. DeSousa-Barlow

Kathleen A. “Kathy” (Duggan) DeSousa-Barlow, 62, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family in New Hampshire. She was the devoted wife of Howard Barlow.

Born in Cranston, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late William Duggan and Brenda (Howrigan) Gadouas.

Kathy worked for People’s Credit Union in Middletown for 22 years as a Lead Mortgage Processor. She was an avid New England Patriots fan and enjoyed attending games. She volunteered at various charity events, often alongside her grandchildren, encouraging them to give back to the community.

Kathy lived simply and generously, always putting others before herself. Spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest joy. She was known for her warmth, sense of humor, and love of spontaneous car rides and beach-view destinations.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Heather and her husband Billy Luppert of Hudson, NH; her grandchildren Daniel “DJ” and Julia; her sisters Brenda Duggan of North Kingstown, RI; Cindy Raposa and her late husband William of Warren, RI; and Colleen Raposa and her husband Steven of Ashland, NH; and her brother Thomas Duggan and his wife Kam of Salem, NH. She was a loving aunt to Steven Jr, Stacy, Keith, Joey, and Zackary. She also has many great nieces and nephews whom she loved to spend time with.

She was predeceased by her son, Jordan F. DeSousa, Jr. and brother William (Billy) Duggan, Jr.
