Obituary For Kathleen Patricia Jordan-Scorpio

Kathleen P. Jordan-Scorpio, 72, of Warren passed away after a long illness at Hope Health Hospice on Sunday, October 31, 2021. The wife of Francis "Frank" Scorpio, she was a long time Resident of Warren, having lived there over 30 years.

Kathleen worked as a Registered Nurse of Rhode Island Hospital for 40 years and was beloved by all who got the chance to work along side her. Both inside and outside the hospital, she dedicated herself to helping people every chance she had. She loved to spend time with her group of close friends from Nursing School, lovingly called “The Dirty Dozen”. In her free time, Kathleen loved tending to her garden, planting her rose bushes, tending to her Koi fish fond and feeding the fish, cooking and baking, and travelling anywhere she could to get away and see new places. She also adored her two Persian cats, Brodie and Duggie.

In addition to her husband, Frank, Kathleen is survived by her two sons, Stephen Murgo and Todd Scorpio, both of Warren; her brother, John "Jackie" Jordan and his wife Gail of Bristol, her brother in law, Ron Warner of Warren and several nieces and nephews. Services are in the care of Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren. A memorial service in her honor will be held at a later time. For tributes visit www.wjsmithfh.com

To the Scorpio family, I'm saddened by the passing of Mrs. Scorpio. I remember having sleepovers and watching Lion King. Halloween parties in the garage and trying not to cause a raucous. Mrs. Scorpio was always very kind and made me feel welcome whenever I was around playing with Todd. I hope all of you find peace in this difficult time and my thought are with all of you. -Justin Kmieciak

It was my privilege to work with Kathy. She was always such a bright light bringing great enthusiasm and joy when she cared for her patients. I first met her in endoscopy. She brightened up the endoscopy suite and put the little ones at ease. Kathy later joined us in the clinic and she shared a great wealth of knowledge on how to care for kids and how to problem solve. She could always make the kids--and her colleagues laugh. I will miss her greatly. Al Ross
