My thoughts and condolences reach far and beyond to everyone who loved Kayla. Losing a mother is a feeling I never thought I'd have to face so soon, and the weight of her absence will linger immeasurably. Kayla and her entire family offered me the love of a family I didn't fully have. Her love, creativity, and selflessness are just a few of the many traits that defined her—traits that raised me and will continue to guide me through life. Although she is no longer with us, she will never truly leave. The memories we shared, and the memories we will continue to create with her in spirit, will keep her with us always. Kayla's spirit will live on in the dragonflies that surround us. We will always miss you, Auntie.
