He drew up the plans himself and hired a builder. It was not to be but he visited Anguilla for many, many years. Even until his death he would always joke about the next rehab availability. He and Phyllis began inn keeping on Nantucket Island in the mid-70s and owned and operated, The Parker Guest House, Tuckernuck Inn and American Bounty Restaurant along with Nantucket Breeze Condominiums. After 25 years on the island they returned to native Rhode Island and along with son-in-law, Frank Hopton and daughter, Monica (Parker) Hopton the four of them owned and operated the State House Inn, Mowry-Nicholson House, and the Christopher Dodge House. He loved the Lord, his family, his dear friends and traveling whenever possible. He retired in 2018 and enjoyed reading, gardening, antique printing presses and home repairs,.
