Obituary For Kenneth John Watkinson

Kenneth J. Kenny Watkinson Jr., 42 of Bristol died Friday, November 13, 2015 at RI Hospital.

He was born in Providence a son of Kenneth J. and Mary ( Ventura) Watkinson Sr, of Bristol RI.

Kenny was a Correctional Officer for the Adult Correctional Institute ( A.C.I. ) in Cranston for the last 16 years. He has been a Bristol resident since 1989 coming from Swansea, he was a member of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Fall River.

He was also a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, before joining the A.C.I.

Kenny was a member of the TACT team, and Color Guard and was a Bagpiper for the ACI.

Mr. Watkinson enjoyed scuba diving, and hunting, he was a grower of large pumpkins, and participated at the pumpkin weigh off at Frerichs Farm in Warren.

He also enjoyed kickboxing, and was a member of the Warren Rod and Gun Club.

Kenny was on the Search and Rescue team for divers. While at Bristol High School, he was on the wrestling team and his team was one of the best in the country.

Besides his parents he is survived by Almerinda (Fontes) Watkinson of Bristol, a son Manny Braga of Bristol, daughter Carla Braga of Bristol, his sisters Renee`Watkinson of Warwick, and Wendy Lee Friend of Pinedale Wyoming. He was the uncle of kharah Davis, Kylee Rae Davis, Skyler Lee Davis, Jaz Davis, and Cassandra Anderson. He was the owner and best friend of his late Bulldog Tyler.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:00am from the SMITH Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, followed by a funeral service at 10:00am in the Calvary Temple Assembly of God ,4321 North Main St., Fall River MA., burial with military honors will be in North Burial Ground, Hope St. Bristol .

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours are Wednesday from 4-8pm.

    Aunt Mary, Uncle Ken, Wendy, Renee & families. Our hearts are broken at this tragic loss. Kenny was a kind, loving soul who gave of himself until the very end. I feel honored and privileged to say we were cousins. I hope that you find peace in your memories of Kenny and the mark he left on this world.
