Obituary For Lawrence M. Krause III
Lawrence Matthew Krause III, 48, of Putnum, CT, formerly of Bristol, RI, died unexpectedly, April 6, 2024 at home. Born in Newport, he was a son of Lawrence M. Jr, and Susanne (Stafford) Krause of Bristol.
Larry worked for many years for the Town of Bristol, RI, Department of Public Works. He was a longtime member of the Bristol Fire Department, Hydraulion Engine Co #1. Larry loved fishing and time spent with his extended family of “nieces and nephews.” Anyone who knew Larry, recognizes him best in a t-shirt, crewneck hoodie, jeans, work boots and a baseball hat, with a Dunkin Donuts ice coffee in hand. His grumpy face belied the soft side and smile he shared with only those closest to him.
Beside his parents, Larry leaves his siblings, Nicholas Krause of Tiverton, and Crystal Anne Krause of Warren. He was the beloved Uncle of Christian Rose and Shelby Krause. He was the grandson of Antionette Krause of Middletown, and the late Lawrence M. Krause Sr. Larry was blessed with many friends, co-workers and fellow firefighters who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his “Papa George”.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI where family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 17th, 4-8pm. Family asks that anyone who attends feel free to dress casually as a tribute to Larry’s distinct style.
