Lena Sampson, 83, of Crescentview Avenue, died Wednesday at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Virginia Perry. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. She was a communicant of St. Brendans Church She was the beloved mother of Daniel Francis, David Bucky Francis, Mary Lee Cardoza, Sheryl Mendoza and Paula Dallaire all of Warren, Tina Shaw of Rumford, and Dana Sampson of CT. She leaves 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services. www.wjsmithfh.com All services will be private.

As a tribute to my grandmother, I was blessed to have been her granddaughter. I have many wonderful memories her. She had one of the most positive outlooks on life. She had her share of trials and tribulations, but always was strong enough to perservere. I truly admired my grandmother for who she was. I only hope, I can live by her example of strength, love, forgiveness, kindness, and oh yes, BINGO!!! I am sure if there is bingo in heaven Gammie will be there playing. You will be forever in my heart.
