As a substitute teacher I often was in a classroom with Mrs R.. she was always very helpful and was a great listener. It was obvious that she really loved the students she worked with. I'm sure she will be missed by her many friends and students who have gone on to higher grades.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I came to know Linda through her granddaughters Tatiana and Hannah when I was their 3rd grade teacher. She volunteered in my classroom and then she became a mentor to many students at Hugh Cole School. I send my prayers to Lindaâ??s family at this sad and difficult time.

Linda will be missed by many people who benefited from her friendship, compassion, and care. Her boundless enthusiasm for so many causes was only surpassed by her love of her family. I truly enjoyed working with her at Hugh Cole School and will miss reading her posts on Facebook. Donna Amaral

Linda became like family to me in the last year of my mother's life. I lived on the other side of the country and my mother wished to live her life near her friends and community in RI. Mom had heart failure and became dependent on oxygen so I hired round-the-clock caregiving to supplement her nursing home care. I travelled back and forth for the last year and finally lived for a few months in RI toward the end of Mom's life. Linda rescued my mother from a series of well meaning but ill-prepared caregivers, some of whom did not notice that her oxygen tanks were running out and needed to be changed. She organized and coordinated with the others so I could fly home for a little while and know that all was well. Toward the end of Mom's life she called me every day whether she worked or not to see how I was. She brought me food since I was practically living at my mother's side. And the night of my mother's passing, after another caregiver had to cancel at the last minute, she just happened to be finishing her shift. She stayed by my side all that night so that in the early hours of that morning my sister and I could make sure my mother's last breath was peaceful. I will never forget Linda. She was a precious combination of a powerfully knowledgeable nurse and a guardian angel. Linda was such an important part of her community and gave so much to many others. She once told me how she stood up for institutionalized psychiatric patients in the state hospital that needed compassionate care. She told me about the owner of a pizza parlor that put people above profits to support his community and whom she supported. But above all she told me how precious and wonderful her children and grandchildren and the rest of her family were and how proud and devoted she was to them. I know her legacy will live on in them. I know she is in heaven watching over them. Blessings to you all, Allyson Rosen

I'll never forget the first time I met Linda. She was caring for my best friend's mom who was about to pass. She never took her eyes off of her patient and I knew immediately this was the wonderful person I wanted to help care for my parents. Over the next two years, Linda became a beloved member of our family as she helped my dad, 91, to die with dignity at home. She then continued to help provide home care for our mother, 93. Linda, you were a life saver and our angel! I don't know what we would have done without your love and support during these difficult times. My heart goes out to your entire family with deepest condolences. Love, Miriam Wold
