Lorraine Ann (Ayoub) Sousa, 93, of Bristol, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Providence, RI with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late James Uriel Sousa, with whom she shared a loving life and beautiful home rooted in love, family and faith for 38 years. In later years, she was also blessed with companionship and friendship with the late Alexander Prescuitti.

She was a hardworking and dedicated woman throughout her life. She was employed by Converse for 19 years, Raytheon for 12 years and later served the students and staff of Bristol RI’s Mt. In her leisure time she liked to gather and do crafts with the Tuesday ladies, as well as spend time with her family, whom she loved beyond measure.
Lorraine lived life with joy and purpose, always placing her family at the center of her world. Full of spirit and truly living life to its fullest, she loved to travel, especially to Arizona, Colorado, Cancun, New Hampshire and Florida. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Lorraine was a devout parishioner at St. Mary of the Bay Parish in Warren, RI and St. Anthony of the Desert in Fall River, MA. She was also a member of the Women’s Guild and Lebanese American Ladies Auxiliary at St. Anthony of the Desert Church, where she served her church community with devotion and grace.
Lorraine will be remembered for her delicious meals, dedication to her faith, fondness of daffodils and the enduring love she gave so freely to her family and friends.
She is survived by her three beautiful daughters, Monica (Sousa) and husband Winston Cobb of Swansea, MA, Cynthia (Sousa) and husband William Cobb of Swansea, MA and Jamie (Sousa) Brooks of Bristol, RI; her loving grandchildren, Melanie (Cobb) and husband Michael Orlowski, Winston and wife Kayti (Mosher) Cobb, Lindsey Cobb, Benjamin Cobb and husband Corbitt Williams, Tiffany Brooks and partner Eric Booth, Anthony “AJ” Brooks Jr. and partner Lindsey Dreher, and preceded by her grandson James “JJ” Brooks. Lorraine took special joy in being a great-grandmother, and her littles were the light of her life: Isadore, Gabriella, Marlowe, Zachary and Winston IV. They will forever carry her warmth, kindness and gentle spirit with them.
Lorraine is also survived by her siblings, Theresa (Ayoub) Levesque and her late husband Eloi Levesque of Westport, MA, and Rochelle (Ayoub) Tolley and her husband Raymond Tolley of Tiverton, RI. She was the sister of her late brother William Ayoub and his wife Dawn Ayoub of Swansea, MA. She is also preceded by her twin sister Sadie “Soroya” Farrah and her late husband Michael Farrah.
