Obituary For Louis Anthony Alexander Jr.

Louis Alexander, Jr. died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his children on November 10, 2022. He was 87 years old. Louie will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and great sense of humor. Louis was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Claudette (Dallaire) Alexander in 2020. They shared a lifetime of companionship and adventure, traveling throughout the years and living in Rhode Island and Florida. They were true partners, working side-by-side through life's challenges and enjoying life's blessings. He loved spending time with his family, gardening, building things, and working around the yard. He was a wonderful father and role model, and he taught his children the importance of hard work and how to continuously challenge yourself by being adventurous and daring. Louie and Claudette loved to spend time with their family and they provided us all with a lifetime of fun and loving memories. He is survived by his children; Steven Alexander and his wife Donna of California, Kathleen Massa and her husband Robert of Bristol, and Denise Hoffman and her husband Richard of Warren. He was the father of the late Michael Alexander (Elizabeth) He was grandfather to Nicole, Rob, Crystal, Amber, David and Katie, and great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren. Born in Warren, Louis was the son of the late Louis and Mary (Garcia) Alexander, and he was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Raymond Alexander, Florence Foster, Louise Greenhalgh, Lucy Martin, Rose Salcone, Frank Perna, and Stella Oliver. Louis served in the Navy and the Army National Guard. He worked many jobs throughout the years, but spent the majority of his working years as a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. He also worked at Roger Williams University. Many years of his retirement were spent living in Florida where he enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and travel. A private graveside service with military honors will be held for the immediate family, and family and friends are invited to a joint Celebration of Life for Louie and Claudette that will be held at The Event Room at Cutler Mills (located behind Tom's Market on Child Street in Warren) at 5pm on Thursday, November 17, 2022. We would like to recognize the amazing work and special woman from Visiting Nurses and Hospice Care of Portsmouth, who helped to make our father's final days peaceful and comfortable. They are special people. In lieu of flowers, donations to Warren Rescue, 1 Joyce Street, Warren, RI, are greatly appreciated
