Obituary For Lucy Mary Mello
Warren - Lucy M. ( Silva) Mello, 92 of Warren, died Friday February 22, 2019 at Crestwood Nursing Home, Warren. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Mello.
Lucy was born in Warren a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sanchas) Silva.
She was a Machine Operator for the Dixon Manufacturing Company of Bristol for many years.
Mrs. Mello was a Warren resident all of her life, and a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she was a CCD Teacher for many years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Mello is survived by her children Gilbert and Judy Mello Jr. of the Villages, Florida, David and Susan Mello of Sutton Ma., Cynthia and Peter Chapman of Warren. Her sister Hilda Gomes of North Attleboro, MA. She was the grandmother of Neil, Nicholas and Marybeth, Jonathan and Tricia, Cassandra and Steve, Zachary, Nathaniel and Regan, Colleen and Gabrielle.
Mrs. Mello was the great grandmother of 5.
She is also survived by her niece Connie Burke, who was like a caretaker for her, and many other nieces and nephews.
Lucy was the sister of the late Manuel Silva, Joseph Silva, Mary Pacheco, Alice Veader and Dolores Costa.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 9:0 am from the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Avenue, Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7pm. Gifts in her memory may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Warwick, RI, 02886

My condolences to the family of Mrs Mello. I grew up on Burnside St and remember her sweetness all those years ago at Dixonâ??s where she worked with my dad Mac Kenna. A wonderful person. George Kenna

We just heard of your loss and send our condolences. We were neighbors with Lucy at Warren Appartments. She was the kindest and most generous woman. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. She would light up when she spoke about them. We send our love and prayers. We were blessed to have known her.
