Obituary For Marc A. Brodeur
Marc A. Brodeur, 68, of Warren, passed away in Fall River, MA on Friday, May 1, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Edith (Lambert) Brodeur for 44 years before his passing.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lorraine (Rioux) Brodeur.
Marc was a gentle soul who spent most of his life dedicated to caring for others through his cooking. It was his livelihood, but also one of many ways he expressed love and gratitude to his family and friends. If you have ever been treated to one of his stuffies, you know how true this is.
Marc loved the sun. Yearly, as soon as the winter weather broke, he could be found working on his tan in the back yard or at his favorite beach. He also enjoyed golfing, listening to music, working on a jigsaw puzzle, and was an avid New England sports fan.
In addition to his wife Edith, Marc is survived by his children: daughter Alexandra Kotuby and her husband Parker, son Philip Brodeur; his siblings: Madeleine Blais and her husband Robert, Sister Susanne Brodeur, Paul Brodeur and his wife Susan, Charline Brodeur-Smith; his grandchildren: Calvin Kotuby and Theodore Kotuby; many extended relatives and friends.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI where family will receive friends Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM with calling hours beginning at 9:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the East Bay Food Pantry.

As I read the obituary yet again, I'm feeling as I imagine many of you feel. Disbelief that it's real. When Edie first began dating Marc when they were attending JWU and then told me that he asked her to marry him, I was skeptical... after all, she was my best friend, and I wanted to be sure he was worthy of her. It didn't take long before he won me over. He was simply, a "good man" in every way. I didn't even mind when he took over the role of being her best friend. They were the perfect couple. Marc was always so warm and welcoming. He always made a person feel at home. It will be difficult for all of us who knew him to accept the loss. He left us way too soon. There was still so much life to live. But I am so grateful he gave my "bestie" such a happy marriage and a happy life. His memory will live on forever. We will all keep his spirit alive.
