Obituary For Margaret Louise Arruda
Margaret L. (Hibbert) Arruda , 89 of Warren, died Wednesday Oct. 7, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.
She was the wife of the late Edward C. Arruda and the daughter of the late George and Annie (Lee) Hibbert. Margaret lived in Warren since 1951 and was a native of Bristol.
Margaret was a Registered Nurse for over 35 years before retiring, receiving her training at RI Hospital under a program sponsored by the Navy. She worked in public health as a District Nurse in Providence, then later at Health Havens in East Providence. Margaret was a tireless volunteer and active in many volunteer organizations, including serving as troop leader for the Girl Scouts of RI, in her churchs Womens Guild and as chair for many years of the annual church Bazaar fundraiser, tending the gardens at Linden Place and the Warren Library, assembling backpacks for children taken into care by DCYF, knitting countless baby hats and Hats for the Homeless, and making Linus Blankets for the childrens hospital. She was a member of the Bristol County Interfaith Choir, the Rose Society, and quilt club. She was a life-long member of the First Congregational Church in Bristol. She loved singing, sailing, quilting, knitting, gardening, and learning about nature. Margaret is survived by her daughters Ellen Weeks of Colrain MA, Anne Anthony and her husband Stephen of Bristol , Jean Aguiar of Swansea, and Martha Mojkowski of Warren; her grandchildren Nathan, Lauren, Kristen, Bill and Molly; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by both her brothers, Alan Hibbert and Norman Hibbert.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Oct. 17, 2015 at 10:00am in the First Congregational Church, 300 High St. Bristol. All are invited to attend. Internment will be private.
Visiting Hours will be held Friday Oct. 16 2015 from 6-8pm in the DeWolfe Room at the church. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Linden Place, 500 Hope St., Bristol RI 02809.

Please accept my sincere expression of sympathy on loss of your dear Mother. Your Mom and I worked many years together at Health Havens, and we're good friends. My husband and I are in Florida for the winter so I will be unable to attend the services. Please know that she is in our prayers.

My sincere sympathy to the family of the late Margaret Arruda. I sang in the Bristol Interfaith Choir with Margaret and we became good friends. She was a wonderful lady and I will never forget her. May she rest in peace.
