Obituary For Maria G. DaSilva

Maria Guida (Santos) DaSilva, 80, of Warren, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on December 19th surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband Francisco DaSilva of 61 years. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Santos of Terceira, Azores.

Maria worked many years for Carol Cable and Victoria Creation. Maria loved to cook, she would spend her free time in the kitchen creating delicious Portuguese meals for her family, she was known for her homemade bread and sweet bread. She enjoyed Sunday rides with her husband and children through Colt State Park and spending time with her husband in Newport by the water having lunch. Christmas was her favorite holiday and, in the spring and summer, you would always find her planting flowers and vegetables in her garden.

Maria is survived by her six children, Lucy DaSilva and her husband Freddy of Bristol, Francisco DaSilva and his wife Doreen of Bristol, Adilia DaSilva of Barrington, Valerie Holton of Johnston, Debbie DaSilva of Bristol, and Nancy Meneses and her husband Frank of East Providence; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and her 2 brothers, Manuel Santos of CA and Antonio Santos and his wife Lucia of Bristol. She was the sister of the late Francisco Santos and Jose Santos.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, where the family will receive friends for Visitation on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 4-7 PM. The Funeral will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 9AM in Funeral Home followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Thomas the Apostle, 500 Metacom Ave, Warren. Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, (OCRA).
