Obituary For Maria T Pereira
Warren -- Maria Margarida T. (Maduro) Pereira, 69 of Warren, RI and Porto Martins, Terceira Azores, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham MA.
She was married to the love of her life the late Moises Fagundes Pereira. Married for 48 years, they enjoyed many loving years together until his sudden passing in August 2016.
Together they resided in Porto Martins, Terceira, Azores, their birthplace, and their home since 2004. Before this, she lived 30 wonderful years in Warren, RI where she worked as a mill worker at American Tourister, and a housekeeper for RI Hospital.
She also spent a many years working at FRAM, and numerous other local manufacturing jobs including the Yarn and Lace Factories.
In her free time, Maria enjoyed embroidery and crochet. She could often be seen working on a beautiful embroidery piece almost anywhere to gift to a relative or friend.
She was the daughter of the late Manuel Correia Maduro and Margarida (Terra) Maduro.
She leaves behind two brothers Manuel T. Maduro of Swansea, Ma and his wife Juanita and Francisco T. Maduro and his wife Natalia of Bristol, RI.
She is survived by her three children, who adored her, a daughter, Isabel Braga of Marion, Ma, and two sons Paulo Jorge Pereira and Moses Pereira both of Warren, RI.
She will be missed by many relatives and friends including many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews both here and in the Azores.
She was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Warren, RI and Igreja de Santa Margarida in Porto Martins, Terceira.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Avenue, Warren, burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street Warren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours are Monday from 5-8pm.
