Obituary For Marion A. Nencka

Marion A. (Mendoza) Nencka, 83, of Warren, RI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. A daughter of the late Joseph and Molly (Medici) Mendoza and the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Walter J. Nencka Sr., Marion was a lifelong resident of Warren.

Marion was very proud of her impressive 40-year career at Amica Life Insurance, where she worked her way up to Assistant Vice President. She was very devoted to her family and happily stepped in to help raise her grandchildren shortly after her retirement. Marion truly loved the family and friends close to her and would always advocate for and motivate those she held dear. In her leisure time, Marion enjoyed spending time with her closest friends that she had held onto since childhood and was a very avid reader – often times reading a book a week.

Marion is survived by her son, Walter J. Nencka Jr. of Bristol, RI; her brother, Richard Mendoza and his wife Jennifer DeAngelis of Warren, RI; her 2 grandchildren, Thomas Nencka and Sara Nencka; and her sister in law, Sheryle Mendoza of Warren, RI, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Mendoza, William Mendoza, James Mendoza, Rosann Roderick and Eleanor Murphy.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 4:30-7:30PM.
