Obituary For Mark William Brinkman

Mark W. Brinkman, 90 of Tiverton, and formerly of Warren, died Thursday Sept. 11, 2014 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Zuiowski) Brinkman. Mr. Brinkman was born in Dayton Ohio, a son of the late Harry J. and Erma ( Biersack) Brinkman. He was a custodian for the Warren School Department for over 12 years before retiring. Mark, was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in WWII as a machinist mate and also serving for over 30 years as a Master Chief Petty Officer , before he retired from the Navy. He has lived in Tiverton for over 2 years coming from Warren where he lived for over 42 years. Mr. Brinkman was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church Swansea, where he was very active in that parish , as well as the former St. Casimir Church in Warren , where he ran the BINGO for over 30 years. He was also in the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his children Michael Brinkman of Ohio, John and his wife Tracie Brinkman of Tiverton, Robert Brinkman of Providence, Harry Brinkman of Westerly, Chad and his wife Wendy of Fall River, Suzanne and her husband Tony Vieira of East Providence, Kristen Woods of Florida, Anne Stigault of Providence. Mr. Brinkman was the grandfather of 15, and the great grandfather of 3, also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Edna, Norma, Agnes, Alma. He was also the father of the late Mark W. Brinkman Jr. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:30am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Dominic Church, 1277 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea, burial with Military Honors in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6pm.
