Obituary For Maureen Marie Splaine

Maureen Marie Splaine, 54, of Warren, RI, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021. She was the youngest child of the late David J. Splaine Sr. and Dolores (Quinn) Splaine of Bristol, RI. Maureen was a kind and generous lady with an effusive and strong personality, a gift for communication and a great sense of humor, a gift from her father. Maureen was born in Pawtucket, RI and enjoyed her childhood growing up in Old Buttonwoods, a seaside community of Warwick, RI. Maureen attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, Bayview Academy and Quinnipiac University. She was a great athlete who excelled in volleyball and tennis in her academic years. Maureen worked in a few fields before gravitating to nursing, earning her CNA Certification, a job which complimented her caring ways and talents. In addition to her mother, Dolores, Maureen is survived by her brother, David J. Splaine Jr. and his wife Deborah of Warwick, RI, her sister, Cathy Splaine Sousa and her husband Louis of Bristol, RI and many nieces and nephews. Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, MA. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St. Warren, RI. Burial will be at North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope St. Bristol, RI. Donations in Maureen's memory can be made to The Victoria Sousa Foundation, 234 Hope St. Bristol, RI 02809, a scholarship established in the memory of Maureen's late niece, Victoria Sousa, who passed away in 2009.
