Obituary For Michael A. Sousa

Michael A. Sousa, 62, of Bristol, RI, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024. A son of the late Manuel and Pearl (Palumbo) Sousa, the beloved partner of Dawn Riall and husband of the late Laureen (Medeiros) Sousa, Michael was a lifelong resident of Bristol; a true Bristolian.

Michael worked for St. Gobain for 35 years. In his spare time, Michael was a huge motor head and loved all things having to do with antique cars and trucks. Some of his fondest memories were of he and his father working on cars together. He would frequent all of the local cruise nights and car shows with his Mustang and Custom Truck. Michael enjoyed watching football and baseball with his favorite teams being the Kansas City Chiefs and the Boston Red Sox. He loved being outside when he wasn’t working on his cars. Most of all, Michael loved his family and spending time with them was very important to him.

In addition to his loving partner, Dawn, Michael is survived by his brothers, Robert Sousa of Bristol, RI, William Sousa and his wife Dawn of Tucson, AZ, and Bruce Sousa and his wife Laura of Bristol, RI; His sister, Cheryl Pimental and her husband Richard of Bristol, RI; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held in Smith Funeral Home at 9AM followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Bristol, RI 02809 at 11AM. Burial will be at North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope St. Bristol, RI 02809.

    Cheryl, Bobby, Bruce, Billy and families, I am so sorry for the unexpected loss of your brother Mike. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
