Obituary For Norman J. Almeida

Norman J. Almeida, 62, of Riverside, RI, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 after a short illness. A son of the late William and Charlotte (Salsbury) Almeida and the beloved husband of 41 years of Kim (Ramsay) Almeida, Norman was a long-time resident of Warren, RI before settling in Riverside.

Norman proudly served his country in the U.S. Army following his graduation from High School. He had love of motorcycles and loved to ride. Norman was a sports fanatic and enjoyed watching whatever was in season. He coached Pop Warner Football and a Little League team for many years and also liked to collect sports memorabilia. Norman loved gardening and tending to his plants. He was known as an Animal Whisperer and had a natural affinity for all kinds of animals. Apart from his other hobbies, Norman could be found in his man-cave in the basement. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them, especially his favorite niece, Wendy, and vacationing with his wife, Kim.

In addition to his beloved wife, Kim, Norman is survived by his sons, Keith Gomes and his wife Nicole of Somerset, MA and Wayne Almeida and his girlfriend Jessica Sullivan of Riverside, RI; his brother, William Almeida Jr. of Warren, RI; his sisters, Donna Kusiak and her husband Paul of Riverside, RI, Debbie Andreozzi and her husband Cliff of Riverside, RI and Betty-Jo Jean and her husband Scott of Swansea, MA; his four grandchildren, Keith Gomes Jr., Aiyana Almeida, Kaelyn Gomes and Wyatt Almeida; and his step-grandchildren, Ethan, Blake and Luke.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 3-6PM. A Service will be held at 6PM. Private Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Norman’s honor to for the 22 a day at VFW Post 2045, 130 Main St. Swansea, MA 02777. Donations can also be made by visiting www.vfw.org.
