Obituary For Olive Bryden Luther

Bristol Olive B. Luther, 99 of Bristol, died Wednesday July 22,2020 at the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home, Bristol.

She was the wife of the late Francis Luther, they were married November 25, 1942.

Olive was born in Fall River, MA., the only child of the late John and Elsie (Whitney) Bryden.

Mrs. Luther was a Nurses Aide in the Emergency Room at Roger Williams General Hospital in Providence for over 20 years, and was also a hairdresser.

She has lived in Bristol since 1942 coming from Warren.

Olive belonged to the First Baptist Church in Bristol, where she was a Deacon, she was also the Choir Director Emeritus.

She was a 75 year member of the Kickemuit Grange, a member of the Bristol Female Charitable Society and member of the Bristol Home for the aged.

She lived life fully with a kind and compassionate heart, a belly full of laughter, an unwavering spirit of positivity, determination and strength. She loved and lived for her family, she also had a strong faith in God.

Mrs. Luther is survived by her children, Francis Bud Luther Jr. and his wife Deborah of Bristol, Gail Feather and her husband Geoffrey of Warren, Cynthia Pires and her husband Alan of Bristol, Betty Vargas and her husband Manuel BIBS of Bristol.

She was the grandmother of 16, the great grandmother of 30 and the great- great grandmother of 1.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date,and all current services are private.

Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Bristol, 250 High Street, Bristol, RI,02809.

    Bob and I extend our deepest sympathy to Olive's family. She certainly was blessed with such a long life. The wonderful family she leaves behind is a tribute to the person she was. I remember first meeting her when you lived on Howe St. and there were always happy kids there. May she rest in peace!

She was a person in my life, if it had not been for her and Dad I don't know what would have happened to me and my sisters. I loved her then and I love her still.
