Obituary For Paul S. Cimbron

Paul S. Cimbron, 69, of Warren, RI passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Anibal and Dolores (Shovelton) Cimbron and the beloved husband of Linda (St. Laurent) Cimbron, Paul grew up in Fall River before moving to Swansea and finally settling in Warren, RI with his family 38 years ago.

Paul was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and a proud Hilltopper where he was a member of the Basketball team led by legendary Coach “Skippy” Karam. He continued playing basketball in Fall River adult leagues with his lifelong friends from the Corky Row Club at the CYO and Bank Street Armory. After starting his family, Paul moved onto coaching youth baseball at SIBL in Swansea and CYO Basketball at OLMC in Bristol RI. Through sports, he was lucky enough to forge many friendships that lasted his lifetime. Paul worked as an Automotive damage Appraiser for 32 years until his retirement and was an avid car collector and Drag Racing enthusiast throughout his life. Paul took great pride in the race cars and restorations he performed with his son, passing on his automotive passion to his granddaughters and the lasting relationships he forged in the Automotive and Racing community. He loved his dogs, Jackson and Scarlett and always kept them close. Most of all, Paul loved his granddaughters and the time spent with his daughter and Wife supporting them during all their sporting activities, dance recitals and other events.

In addition to his beloved wife, Linda, Paul is survived by his daughter, Leigh Anne Butterworth and her husband Jacob of Warren, RI; his son, Kyle P. Cimbron and his wife Amanda of Swansea, MA; and his four grandchildren, Madison Butterworth, Makenna Butterworth, Ava Cimbron and Kya Cimbron.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 7:45-10:00AM. A Service will be held at 9:30AM followed immediately by a Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St. Fall River, MA.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Paul's passing this morning. I had the good fortune of meeting Paul in ninth grade. He was a good and loyal friend throughout our high school years. We had such great times as we navigated high school together. Although life's paths took us in different directions after high school I frequently recall fond memories of times spent with Paul. He was a good man. Sincere condolences to Paul's family. Rest in peace, my friend. David Sullivan Durfee class of 1972.

Thoughts and prayers are with the Cimbron family. I had the pleasure of working with Paul at Liberty Mutual. He was such a great colleague and always had a smile on his face. He particularly lit up when talking about his family whether it be about his latest project with his son or recent activity with a grandchild. It was clear that this is what brought him complete joy in life. He will be missed.

Words alone can never express true emotions. Just know that Paul was very much loved and will be deeply missed but never truly gone. He's at peace and will be you always. Sincerely, Donna Butterworth
