Obituary For Rachel Staton
Rachel ( Lessard) Staton, 84 of Warren, died Friday June 20 2014, at RI Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Charles A. Staton Sr.
She was born in Warren, a daughter of the late Oliver & Rose (Ethier) Lessard.
Mrs. Staton was the Deputy Town Clerk, for the Town of Warren, for many years before retiring in 1992 A lifelong Warren resident she was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church, where she served as Eucharistic Minister.Rachel was very active in the Senior Centers in Warren and Barrington. She was also on the adult Bowling League at Dudeks.
She is survived by her sons Charles A. Staton Jr. and his wife Patricia of Warren, and Christopher Staton and his wife Marygrace of Warren, her sisters Delores MacDougall of Warren , and Annette LaPorte of Norwalk Ct. She was the grandmother of Christian, Charles A. III, John, Dennis, Hannah, and Samuel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Oliver Lessard Jr., and the late ORella Ferri.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00am from the SMITH Funeral and Memorial services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery .Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
