Obituary For Richard DeBlois

Richard DeBlois, 73, of Warren, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Norman and the late Lillian (Perron) DeBlois. Beloved husband of the late Bernadette (St John) DeBlois.

A graduate of Warren High in 1957, Richard was employed by Blount Marine as a electrician for 21 years retiring in 1991, he also worked for Laidlaw as a bus driver and trainer for many years. He was a 2010 Inductee to the Warren Athletic Hall of Fame. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel and enjoyed western movies.

Loving father of Richard and Laurie DeBlois of East Providence, Suzanne McCarthy, Norman and Karen DeBlois all of Warren, and Daniel DeBlois of FL. He leaves his grandchildren Holly Goddu, Emily McCarthy, Kelly McCarthy, Rachelle DeBlois and Daniel DeBlois; great grandson Rocco Lombardi. He was the brother of David DeBlois of Arizona. and the late Geraldine DeBlois and Jane Mary Curria. He also leaves his sister-in-law Geraldine Shallcross, neice Pamela St John and cousin Paula Deslauriers.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where the family will receive friends 5-7pm. Tuesday, February 5th, followed by a service at 7pm in the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904. wjsmithfh.com

    Dear Ricky & Laurie, Suzanne, Norman & Karen, and Danny: Please accept my sincerest sympathy for your great loss. Dickie was a great guy and I consider myself lucky that he touched my Life for awhile; I will never forget him. He had the best laugh that I can still hear. I know in my heart that he and Bernie are reunited and riding off in a convertible somewhere. May they rest in peace together and may you all find some peace with your loss. I will miss him. ~~Sandy
