Rita A. (Desmarais) Laroche, 82, of Kathleen Drive, died Friday at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Bristol, a daughter of the late George and Rose Alma (Lemeire) Desmarais. She was the wife of the late Leo Laroche. She worked many years for the former American Tourister in Warren before retiring in 1991. Mrs. Laroche was an avid Red Sox fan who also enjoyed bingo and walking. Beloved mother of Steven and Maria Laroche with whom she lived, Gene Laroche and Adelle and Joseph Marshall all of Warren. Loving grandmother of Melissa Mozzone and Robert Dubois. She was predeceased by her nine siblings, Frederick, Anthony, Gilbert, Albert and Emilian Desmarais, Lucy Bettencourt, Odille Brule, Rosanna Squire and Madeline Scola. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, where family will receive friends, Tuesday, March 22nd, 4-8pm. Funeral Wednesday, March 23rd, 8:30 at the funeral home, 10am in St Marys Church, Wood Street, Bristol. Interment will be in St Marys Cemetery, Bristol.
