Obituary For Rita M. Ilg

Ilg, Rita M., 72 of Bristol, died Friday, February 26th, at home with her loving family by her side. Beloved wife of Robert J. Ilg for 50 years. Born in Montgomery, MN, to Jerome C. and Regina (Colling) Coughlin. She was a graduate of the College of St. Catherine, Department of Nursing and has worked as an RN at various hospitals across the country. She was recognized by the American Red Cross as a volunteer after the Alaska earthquake in 1964. Her volunteering included, Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where she was also a member of the Auxilliary and served on the Auxilliary Board for 7 years and for East Bay Literacy. She was a member of the St Mary of the Bay Women's Guild and a cancer survivor since 2002. Besides her husband she leaves daughters, Ann C. Ilg of Fairport, NY and Mary E. Ilg and her husband Stephen Isabel of Bristol, RI. Beloved grandma of Benjamin R. Ilg and Zachary T. Isabel of Bristol. Sister of Clayton Coughlin and his wife Darlene of MN., the late Edward Coughlin. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, where family will celebrate her life, Tuesday, March 2nd, 4-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, March 3rd, 10:30am at St Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren.
