Bristol -- Rita M. ( Fleich) Wheatley, 88 of Bristol, died Sunday April 2, 2017 at the Hope Hospice in Providence.

she was the wife of the late David R. Wheatley.

Rita was born in Freeport, New York a daughter of the late Adam and Margaret Catherine ( Corcoran) Fleich.

she was an Office worker for the GTE. Communications Company in Needham Ma., for over 10 years. Mrs. Wheatley has been a Bristol resident since, 2002 coming from Blackstone MA., a parishioner of St. mary's Church, Bristol. She is survived by her son Geoffrey Wheatley of Douglas Ma, and her daughter Linda W. Alegria of Bristol. She is also the sister of Patricia Johnson of Oceanside New York, and survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late David R. Wheatley Jr, and sister of the late Jean Keegan and the late Eileen Wagner.

Mrs. Wheatley's funeral will be held Friday April 7, 2017 at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial , at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol.

Cremation will follow after the mass..

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Thursday April 6, 2017 from 4 - 7pm.
