Obituary For Robert John Peters

Robert J. Peters, 77 of Bristol, died Thursday July 24 2014 at Silver Creek Nursing Home.

He was the husband of Arlene (Tavares) Peters , they were married for over 55 years.

He was born in Warren a son of the late John and Carolina ( Esteves) Peters.

Mr. Peters , was a draftsman for Raytheon, for over 30 years, before retiring in 1998. Robert was a US Army veteran serving as a Staff Sergeant. He has been a Bristol resident since 1967 coming from Warren, a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, he enjoyed Hot Rods, and golf.

Besides his wife he is survived by a son Scott Peters of North Kingstown, a daughter Kimberly Peters of Providence. He was the grandfather of Matthew Peters, and William Peters. Mr. Peters was the father of the late Craig Peters, and the brother of the late John Peters

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave. Warren, burial with military honors in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery .     Dear Arlene & Family:I am at work and had some time to send a line.I am so sorry for your Loss of your beloved husband Robert.I will miss him very much.I am so glad that I met you guys at the beach.The Beach has not been the same & no one will take your place.Our friendship is special,what I mean by special no one else calls except me.I have enjoyed keeping intouch and I will definitly miss talking to Bob on the phone but I will always call and say hello.Bob was like a 2nd father to me and I am so greatful for his friendship and arlene too.I Love Bob and Arlene.It will be a while before I get over his passing but I will always have a place in my heart for Bob.Some of the things Bob Loved Charice & Peppers/Arlene's great sandwiches at the beach/Arlene's home cooking/Red sox Baseball/Patriots Football/Pizza w/extra cheese/Arlene's great salads/Side by each/Through me down the stairs the keys/as long as I am the judge you will get your papers/chinesse food/antipasto salads.These were some of the things bob loved.Before I close I just want to say that its been a pleasure knowing Bob & Arlene.I will miss bob very much & we will all miss him but we will think about him daily.My Thoughts & Prayers are with the entire fasmily of Bob & arlene.
