I worked closely with Bob for many years while he Captained the WR for Blount Seafood. It was a real privilege for me, he was always a true professional and considered him a friend. I am so sorry to learn of his passing and praying for the family as they remember, celebrate, and grieve. Josie, we will be praying that God will sustain you and your family through this very difficult time. Sincerely, Steve Blount

Bob & I spent many hours sitting at the dock in the wheelhouse of the Wando talking about family, God & politics. He would challenge me on various topics & I would challenge him. I miss those exchanges through which I developed an admiration and respect for him as a man. Through all our private conversations over the years, I never once was given reason to doubt his love for and loyalty to Jocelyn, Michael & Matthew. It was what I admired most about him. It is a rare thing in this day and age to find a man so loyal to his family & Bob was the real deal. Bob - I will miss you , brother.

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a great guy and good friend to my son Mike and Daughter Susan. He was at my house many times in his teens and my late husband and I enjoyed his company. He came to my husbands wake and spent a long time there talking to my daughter and son. He will not be forgotten!!! My thoughts and prayers to the entire Rene Family. Pat Costa

It is with such deep sadness that I'm typing this. I just wanted to say what a great man Bob was. Mrs. Rene (Bob's Mom), you and your husband raised such a wonderful man. When I dated Bob in High School, he was such a gentleman. Sweet, kind, thoughtful, caring and fun. Both of you, such great people and parents. I met Josie briefly when my oldest son and Michael played Little League. Josie, he truly loved you and his family. I know this, as when he came to my Father's funeral service, he stayed the entire time, sat with me and we talked about my Dad, of course but also you, your boys and that we were now both Grandparents! I was so happy that he had such a loving relationship, it's what he deserved. Michael, your sentiment you posted here to your Dad touched me... it sums it all up and I'm sure that you and your brother are wonderful men, just as he was. He will be missed by so many. What a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to me and so many. Keep all of your happiest memories of him with you always. With love and sadness, Susan (Costa) Browning
