Obituary For Robert L. Lamothe

Robert “Bob” Lamothe, 79, of Portsmouth, RI passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the home of his daughter, Sharon, surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Louis and Irene (Medeiros) Lamothe, Robert was born in Fall River, MA but spent most of his life in Warren, RI before moving to Portsmouth in 2006.

Robert worked for Carol Cable as a machine operator for many years. He loved spending his days visiting the Tiverton Casino and searching for his scratch tickets. In his spare time, he enjoyed shopping at his favorite stores, tending to his many plants, and watching Friday night wrestling.

In his younger years, Bob loved clamming in the Kickemuit River. He would spend summers camping with his best friend George “Butch” Normandin and his family. They loved sitting around the table on Saturday nights eating, laughing and listening to oldies. Bob was an amazing cook and loved to make stuffies and spend time with his family. He took pride in his home and his love for decorating in the colors black and white.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Heidi Lamothe of Pawtucket, RI; his son, Kenneth Lamothe and his wife Aimee; his daughter, Sharon Lamothe of East Providence, RI; his four grandchildren, Samantha, Kyla, Kelsey and Alexa; and his three great grandchildren, Jaylah, Julian and Javien. He was preceded in death by his cousin Shirley McKnight who he considered a sister.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and guests for a Memorial Service on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 5-7PM. Burial will be Private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert’s name can be made to the St. Mary of the Bay Parish Food Pantry, 645 Main St. Warren, RI 02885.
