Obituary For Robert L. Remy

Warren - Robert L. Remy, 87, of Warren, died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Janet (Vitullo) Remy , they were married for over 66 years.

He was born in Fall River a son of the late Noe H. and Leah (Davol) Remy.

Robert was the owner of Remy Plumbing and Heating and also the Owner of Lucky Bait and Tackle, both in Warren. A Warren resident all of his life. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church.

Mr. Remy was a member of the National Guard for over 18 years also a member of the Seabees. He was a member of the Hook and Ladder Company of the Warren Fire Department. He was a member of the Striper Marina Fishing Club in Barrington and was the Founder of Take a Kid Fishing.

Robert was on the Board of Directors for the Warren Housing Authority, and also on the Board of Directors for the Warren German American Club.

He was also on the Democratic Committee.

Besides his wife Robert is survived by his children Brian Remy of Warren, Cheryl Robinson of Bristol, and Karen Barros of Bristol. He was the brother of Virginia Furtado of Warren, and the late Ronald P. Remy.

Mr. Remy was the grandfather of Robert L. Remy II, Adam Aparicio, Erin Aparicio ,and Leah Robinson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 9:00 am from the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Alexander Church, 221 Main Street , Warren. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 8, 2018 from 4-7pm.

Gifts in his memory may be sent to the Warren Fire Department, Relief Fund, c/o Fire Chief, 1 Joyce Street, Warren, RI 02885.

A great man who placed the love of his family and friendship of his friend above all concerns. Bob will be sadly missed but his legacy will strongly live on.
