Robert Ladd MacGregor May 14, 2019

Robert Ladd MacGregor, 79, of Somerset, died on May 14, 2019 at the Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River, MA.

Born February 20, 1940 to the late James F. and Marion E. (Ladd) MacGregor. He was the husband of Sandra (Wood) MacGregor for 57 years.

Bob graduated from Barrington High School and Bryant College and served in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was an HVAC Engineer and Sales Representative for Automatic Heat, Snow and Jones and Plumber's Supply.

Bob was also a USCG licensed Charter Captain. His boat, the Hop-Tuit, was docked in Padanaram, New Bedford and Falmouth Harbor during his 25 years of Charter fishing primarily fishing around Cuttyhunk, the Elizabeth Islands, and Martha's Vineyard. Capt. Bob touched many people's lives, in the Southcoat and Cape communities, by taking them fishing and was always willing to help and teach younger people to begin their professional fishing careers.

Bob also raced Hydroplanes for a few years and enjoyed Beach Buggy surf casting on Nauset Beach and was a member of the MBBA.

Besides his wife he leaves his eldest son Todd, and his partner Kari Miller of Fairhaven, daughter Kimberly Erickson and her husband Scott of Somerset and son Kyle of San Diego CA. He also leaves four Grandchildren, Taryn and Jan MacGregor and Sharon and Steven Erickson. His brother Barry MacGregor of Conway SC and his sister Carol Cissel of Murrell's Inlet SC, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James and Bruce MacGregor.

There will be a Celebration of Life for family and close friends at the convenience of the family.
