Obituary For Robert Newell Lake

Robert N. Lake - 72, passed away on Thursday May 12, 2016. Born in Providence, R.I., he was the son of the late Waldo and Margaret Lake. Bob is survived by his loving wife Mary (Johnson) Lake.

Bob was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was the owner and operator of R and L Asphalt Paving for over 35 years. Bob was a charter member of The East Bay Bass Masters, a member of the Castaway Bass Anglers, Coventry Bass Masters, The Bass Federation of Rhode Island, The Rhode Island Bass Federation and a member of the Ranger Boat Team.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Janet Lake of Bristol; four sons, Robert S. Lake of Pawtucket, William Mojkowski (Tammy) of Bristol, Joseph Mojkowski (Luz-Marina) of Tiverton, RI. and Robert Mojkowski of Providence, R.I. 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Lake was the brother of the late Sheldon Lake, and also the late June Santos

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home 8 Schoolhouse Road Warren, RI. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 9:00am in the Smith Funeral home followed by a small service and burial at the chapel at Highland Memorial Cemetery, One Rhode Island Avenue in Johnston, RI.

    We fished against each other and with each other on countless occasions.. Bob was always a gentleman and willing to share his extensive knowledge of fishing and his unique philosophies of life. God Bless you Bob!
