Obituary For Robin M Field

Robin Mary Ethier Field

January 16, 1960 September 17, 2016

Of Poolesville, Md. Passed away on September 17, 2016. Beloved wife of Malcolm and mother to children Christopher, Henry, and Beatrice.

She is also survived by her mother Florence Claire (Znoj) Ethier of Warren, RI, and siblings William H. Ethier of Burlington, VT, Paul C. Ethier of Norwich, CT, Elaine C. Rezendes of Somerset, MA and Christopher P. Ethier of Dracut, MA. She was predeceased by her father William G. Ethier.

Robin was born and raised in Warren, R.I. In 1978 Robin was valedictorian of her graduating class at Our Lady of Fatima High School in 1978.

Four years later, Robin graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (where she met future husband, Malcolm) with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences. Shortly thereafter Robin went to work for Northeast Utilities as a phycologist at the Millstone Nuclear Power Station where she analyzed the local (seaweeds) diatoms for adverse effects from the reactors coolant water.

Three years later Robin moved with husband Malcolm to the Washington, D.C. area where she began work as a copyeditor for the American Geophysical Union. After 12 years working for the AGU and after the birth of her third child, Beatrice, Robin became an elementary and middle school teacher at Mary of Nazareth School in Darnestown, MD.

Robin was devoted to her family and her work as a teacher where she was determined that all her students should master the subject she taught. Robin was an active and devoted member of Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church in Poolesville, Md. where she was a founding member.

We will remember our beloved Robin for her joy and love of life, and her faith in God.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday Sept. 26, 2016 at 11:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church at 645 Main Street, Warren, RI,, Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers we request that donations be given to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, which is partnered with the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.

    We have a privilege to have Mrs. Field as my daughter Math teacher, she was part of her life and share memories with her. May God open his arms to welcome her. R.I.P

    We are deeply saddened of Robin's passing. We are sending prayers to all of you. Mrs. Field was a gentle, kind, and humble teacher, I am glad my boys experienced her love. She taught and walked in faith. She will be missed.
